Bissa Fitness Club (BFC) produced a stunning last minute comeback to earn a draw with Team Bissa after throwing away two goals lead in a dramatic Zekula Day friendly.
It was a pulsating all Bissa friendly that ended up in an 8 goals thriller, setting the entire Fadama park into delirium.
The BFC came into Saturday’s game as the underdogs but they were the team to set the pace for a blistering football fiesta.
They were the first and the last to score in the game that brought out some hidden talents among the Bissa youth in Accra.
Both teams ended the game with 4 goals apiece but it was the BFC who had to fight back to rewrite their wrongs.
They were very thrilling in the first 10 minutes of the second half but turned to be trailing by the 87th minutes of the game.
It was a contest between a possesing-dominant side and treacherous scoring BFC, who conjured a moment of magic to end the game in a stalemate.
The first half had ended goalless with Team Bissa dominating play, but it was the BFC who occasionally gave a notice of what they are capable of doing.
They did all that they could to prevent the well composed Team Bissa from scoring, while they intermittently forced opponent’s goalkeeper to prove his mettle.
Both teams returned into the second half with a new approach with the BFC setting their eyes on goal, knowing very well that they cannot compete with Team Bissa when it comes to possessing the ball.
Their strategy paid off when they scored two quick goals in the first ten minutes of the second stanza of the game, before Team Bissa pulled one back.
But the BFC quickly grabbed their third to restore the two goals lead.
Having gotten themselves into comfortable lead, the keep fit club went to sleep, allowing Team Bissa to score three straight goals to overturn the lead to 4-3.
Team Bissa came into the party with a master play, turning their superior ball possession into production, becoming a free-scoring side that were crushing to a famous victory.
But the BFC would not give up too easily on the day, proving their 3 goals was not a fluke.
The chanting of the BFC ladies was a wake up call to the men in blue, who kept knocking for an equaliser, having realised that time was tickling so fast.
With defensive impregnability, fluidity in midfield and ferocious attack, the BFC fought back like wounded lions and stupendously equalised to send their fans into jubilation.
The game lived up to its billing as it brought the Zekula traits among the players and spectators who had thronged the Fadama Cluster of Schools park to witness what has been described as first step of Unity game among Bissas.
Saturday 3rd April marked the celebration of the annual Zekula Festival, which is held at Kulungungu, the traditional town of Bissas in the Upper East region of Ghana.
For the second time, the grand event has been called off due to the Covid19 pandemic.
However the game played at the astro-turf of Fadama gave those in Accra a lot to celebrate.
It was the first of its kind and a test of the best Bissas can give to the rest as they mark the Zekula at home.
