The. Bissa Association of North America (BANA) is the latest to send it’s congratulatory message to four newly Bissa Medical personnel, who have been inducted into office.
A two-day ceremony held on the 7th and 8th of October at the Accra International Conference Centre saw Dr. Sumaila Iddi Nombre, Dr Elham Salifu Zelgeni, Dr Hakeem Seidu-Aroza Zanni and Physician Assistant Zara Hamidu being inducted into office by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council last week.
In a statement issued on Wednesday 19th October, BANA extolled the young men and women for making entire Bissa fraternity proud.
“The entirety of Bissa in the diaspora is proud of you and we pray to Allah to bless your Knowledge and make it beneficial to Bissa, Ghana and Islam,” read the statement written by Imam Sheikh Bashiru Seidu on behalf of the Association President.
“You did not only give us a degree to be proud of, you gave our younger folks hope and example to emulate.”
BANA’s congratulatory statement comes exactly a week after the BDA shared similar felicitous message with the young achievers.
The four were given formal qualification to operate as newly added health professionals to Ghana’s Health system in a ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
While Elham graduated from KNUST Medical School, Hakeem Zanni graduated from the UDS School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr Sumaila Nombre on the hand, had his training in China before completing a mandatory one year Service in the country to grab his qualification berth.
Zara Hamid, who is the latest to join the Bissa healthworkers Union as a Physician Assistant, graduated from the Central University collage last year.
She had her induction ceremony a day before the Doctors had theirs on Friday 8th October.
The feats chocked by the two ladies and the two gentlemen signify Bissas contribution in the injection of human resource into the country’s health system, and according to the BDA, the glory is for all Bissas.
BANA was so impressed with the fact that the Bissa fraternity, however patriarchal, is growing so strong with the involvement women.
“To Dr. Elham and PA Zara in particular , you are an example to our girls out there , that they can become whatever they want as long as they put their heart to it , work for it and pray for Allah’s support,” he said.
“May the almighty Allah bless you all in your achievement and make you an enlightenment to the Bissa tribe.
Once again congratulations to you our newly certified doctors and Physician Assistant. we are proud of you.”

I write on my own behalf as the President of Bissa association of North America(BANA), on Behalf of our chiefs, Chireh Abdullahi Gambo, Bissa chief of NY, Chireh Alhaji Ibrahim Adam Bissa Chief of NJ and the entire Bissa fraternity in the diaspora to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our two brothers and sister Dr. Sumaila Idi Nombre, Dr. Hakeem Seidu Aroza Zanni, Dr. Elham Salifu Zelgani and PA Zara Hamidu, who made not only themselves and their families proud, but the entirety of bissa and Islam proud.
