Two gentlemen and a lady from the Bissa fraternity on Friday graduated from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) at the school’s 14th Congregation Ceremony held at its Dzorwulu campus in the Greater Accra Region.

Ayishetu Zombra, Alexander Naaga Bombande and Mohammed Abdul Malik had their respective degrees conferred on them to mark the completion of their courses of study and a collective celebration of their hard work and achievements.

It comes five months after they successfully wrote their final exams online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They were among the thousand two hundred and fifty nine (1259) students, who successfully completed their Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the country’s premier Communication School in the 2019/2020 academic year.

Whiles Ayishetu Zombra graduated with a degree in Journalism, Bombande and Abdul Malik grabbed their academic honours in Public Relations, adding up to the successes being chalked by Bissas across the country.

The 14th Congregation Ceremony was held in two sessions in accordance to Covid-19 protocols, for which family and friends were not allowed inside the premises.

The final semester for the 2019-2020 academic year became very challenging for students following the outbreak of the dreaded Coronavirus in the country.

The school closed its campus in early March and adopted a virtual lecturing session, which was followed by examination in a similar fashion.

Already the University of Education Winneba, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Cape Coast have held theirs, where Bissas hugely made a mark.
