On Saturday evening, the news of Alhaji Osman Issaka Nombre’s untimely passing, at the age of 62, sent shockwaves through the Bissa fraternity.

Mr Nombre, Popularly called Alhaji Weapon, died in the evening of 27th November 2021, the very day he marked his 62nd birthday.

Tributes have been pouring in from those who worked alongside him, those who knew and loved him, and also from fellow Chiefs and BDA members, who respected him as one of this generation’s greatest.

Bissa Chief of Bortianor Kir Suallah Saaed Sare is one of such high-powered Bissa leaders, who is still struggling to accept the loss of his colleague,  father and friend.

Chief Saaed Suallah Sare,  who sat with the late Nombre at the Greater Accra Leadership Council calls it a “big blow”.

Mr Nombre was the organiser of the Bissa Development Association (BDA) and also served as the Gateway Chief at the Dabre Palace of Greater Accra.

As one of the most well-respected and beloved servants of  the Bissa Fraternity, many have taken the news very hard, following his active life and the ubiquity of his work for the Bissa people.

Kir Sare, who doubles as the Sardawna (Prime Minister) of the New Bortiano Zongo, shared on Social Media, a photo of himself and Mr Nombre at his coronation ceremony at the Dabre Palace, applauding the late the workaholic  Alhaji Weapon for what he lived for.

He followed it with an emotional tribute, mourning the demise of a man, who led and “inspire us with our Culture and anything that will help us now and forever”.

He believes Alhaji Weapon’s kindness and energetic generousity will leave a lasting impression on every life he touched

His post read:”Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un!”

“To me you are still alive and you will for the rest of time because your Good work will live in our minds and the minds of our future generations. You are a father for all, a friend for all, a fellow Chief whom we the youth chiefs look up too. You always lead us and inspire us with our Culture and anything that will help us now and forever. Kir Weapon this is a big blow to me and the entire Bissa Fraternity. Rest in Peace and May the Almighty Allah bless all his mercies on you,Grant you Jannatul Firdaus and place you among his prophets and messengers And grant you happiness and love in the After Life. You are a Hero, a Legend and your life story will be told the generations upon generations.Chief Issaka you will live forever here and afterlife.”
