Calls for patience, unity and tranquility among Bissas dominated discussions at Bortianor on Sunday as Kir Suallah Saeed Sare hosted his people in a council meeting at his palace.
The magnificent palace became an arena for counseling as Imams, Chiefs and opinion leaders engaged members of the New Bortianor and New Weija communities on ways they can contribute to the development of the fraternity.
It was a colourful scene as Kingsmen and women converged at the palace to establish a stronger Bissa community within the three Greater Accra suburbs, which fall under Kir Sare’s jurisdiction.
It was the second time Kir Sare was hosting such a meeting after ten months of his ascension to the seat of leadership.
And it was dominated by the youth, who were advised to treat one another with love, respect and patience to have smooth steps to achieving the “Zekula” Bissas are yearning for.
It came with a clarion call for action, an injection of passion and a challenge for participation amid an appeal for calm in achieving a common goal.
“Patience, Love and respect are some of the things we lack in our communities and that is why up till now we have leadership challenges, said the Greater Accra Bissa Council Secretary Alhaji Salifu Dabre (Bomber)
“If Bissas should treat one another with love and respect we would be making progress on faster pace than what we see now.
“We have the largest population in Upper East, but no strong leadership due to divisions.”
Adding his voice to the call, Shaikh Musah also urged the youth to show interest in taking part in Bissa activities.
He said the strength of Bissas future is in the hands of the youth but can be achieved with patience.
“As youth we know you have temper issues when things aren’t going as expected but Patience, Unity and togetherness are what we need to develop,” he said.
“If we should show no interest in some our our activities aimed at bringing us together, we will be at standstill.”
On building a stronger Bissa fraternity for the New Bortianor and Weija Communities, Imam Ismail Sambare of Ayawaso North Council of elders suggested brothers and sisters should inform their colleagues who may not be aware meetings of such has been going on in the palace.
“This is our second meeting at this palace and the participation is been overwhelming,” he said.
“Today our number is bigger than our first gathering here.
“That is why you should inform one another, a brother and sister to be attending meetings such as this, which can help us to know one another. That is what we need now.”
According to the leadership, the Palace will work hand-in-hand with members of the three communities to ensure there is development in the lives of Bissas.
Kir Sare, who doubles as the “Sardawna” (prime minister), has already pledged to tackle issues of Education and Employment for his people and has already begun a familiarity tour of the three communities he controls.
