The Bissa Community of Tarkwa will on Sunday perform the funeral of the late Kir Abdul Rahman Batango, concurrently with the installation of a new chief to take over the mantle.
Kir Sugur Naa Haruna Garba Senani II will officially begin his reign as the replacement of Kir Batongo, who died in April at the age of 90.
This significant event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 3rd, at New Takoradi, Tarkwa.
The passing of Kir Batongo, the previous leader, marks a solemn moment for the community. As a result, the installation of Bissa Kir Sugur Naa is not only a ceremonial transition of leadership but also a continuation of the governance legacy within the region.
The decision to hold both the installation and the funeral concurrently signifies the continuity of leadership and a seamless transition of authority within the Bissa community.

The incoming leader will inherit responsibilities that encompass not only administrative duties but also a crucial role in preserving the cultural heritage and guiding the community towards its future endeavours.
As the community comes together to bid farewell to Abdul Rahman Batongo and embrace the era of Kir Sugur Naa, the event on September 3rd will be a significant moment for Tarkwa. It will not only pay respect to the past but also look forward to a promising future under new leadership. The concurrent occurrence of these events showcases the seamless transition of authority while upholding the values that define the Bissa’s identity and heritage.
