SEBE project: Kir Suallah Saeed Sare gives huge financial support to vegetable farmers

The Bissa Chief of New Weija and New Bortianor, Chief Kir Suallah Saeed Sare, through his “Sare Education and Business Empowerment” (SEBE) Project, has presented a huge amount of money to vegetable farmers in his community.

Five farmers each received an amount to invest in their vegetable cultivation as part of an initiative to eradicate poverty and support economic growth among Bissas.

The amount covers the acquisition of land, the purchase of seedlings, irrigation, and pest and disease control.

At a ceremony on Monday to hand over the money to the farmers, the Chief said Bissas are well known for vegetable cultivation, and assisting them was a way to ensure the growth of their businesses.

“Vegetable farming is ours, as we can say, and I think our men already in the business need our support as part of our Zekula mission,” he said.

“As it’s our aim to achieve empowerment under the SEBE project, it’s very important to pay more attention to agriculture.

“That is why you have been invited today to receive such an amount, and I believe, however small it is, this can go a long way to supporting your vegetable business, as we hope to do more to help the majority of our people in this community”

He said he was committed to supporting them by offering the little he could to improve their trades for the benefit of their children, families, and respective communities.

He said the inputs would go a long way toward helping boost their farm activities in the various communities.

Since the inception of his initiative, the Chief has provided financial assistance to Bissas, the most recent of which cost more than GH10,000.

The five vegetable farmers are the third batch of beneficiaries of the SEBE project since its launch in April of this year.
