A member of the Bissa Health Professional Union, Rabiatu Iddris Sumaila Zerba, has graduated from the University of Wisconsin, successfully grabbing her first degree in BSC midwifery.

It marks a successful upgrade in both her academic and professional statuses after years of practice as a diploma holder.

At a colorful graduation ceremony held on Saturday at the forecourt of the school, Rabiatu was joined by her family and friends as she received her certificate with pride.

Prior to obtaining her degree, she had two diploma certificates, one each from the Korle-Bu NMTC and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

“It has been a long journey, but I had to begin with a step,” she said.

It has been a mixture of sweet, sour, spicy, and savory. Through the lows and the highs, we can thank the almighty for how far he has brought me.

After completing her SHS education at Osino Presbyterian Secondary Technical School, Rabiatu took over her mother’s waakye business that year.

She got admission to Korle Bu NMTC in 2009 and was awarded her diploma in midwifery in 2012.

She later obtained her second diploma from KNUST in 2014.

However, combining her work with studies and pursuing a degree capped a beautiful story of an ambitious Bissa lady that was told on Saturday, November 26.

From a Zerba Father and Samandulugu Mom, the young lady’s performance at work has been hailed by many who have come under her services.

She has been an active member of the Bissa Health Professionals Union, and her achievement serves as motivation to many who aim to upgrade themselves on both an academic and professional level.
