The 2020 Eid ul Fitr celebration on Sunday has been marred by the Coronavirus scare, forcing Muslims to avoid the age-long communal celebration in a move to curb the spread of the virus that has killed 31 in Ghana.
Things were a bit different this year due to the coronavirus restrictions. Traditionally, the festival is marked with prayers in mosques and visits to friends and family.
The day marks the end of Ramadan, a holy month where Muslims won’t eat or drink between dawn and sunset, a practice known as fasting.
With the social distancing protocol well observed across the country, the communal celebration has to be ignored but that did not wash away the excitement entirely as many Muslim families still celebrated at home and found ways to enjoy the festival together, relying on technology to send their felicitations to one another.
It has been 24 hours since the first of a the 3-day celebration was marked across the world, and with approximately 24 hours to officially draw the curtains on the grand feast, bissanewsonline has gathered some pictures and wishes from some Bissas as many seeking God’s guidance for families and friends in the years ahead.
