Kir Mustapha Dawuda Lengani on Saturday, 3rd September, proudly marketed the Bissa culture at Gomoa Fetteh as he graced the Grand Durba held to mark the Akwambo Festival.
It was a huge platform for invited Chiefs and people to be part of a lively celebration amid a growing cosmopolitan nature of the Fetteh township.
Leading a large entourage to the durba grounds, the Kir Lengani and his followers appeared proudly in more Bissa fashion, wearing the contemporary groundnut-made necklaces in classic fashions.
He was one of many Chiefs invited to the “Ahorba Kɛse” Durba, which marked the penultimate event for the festival celebrated by the indigenes of Gomoa Fetteh.
The Bissa Development Association (BDA) in its bid to project the ethnic group, has urged members to take pride in their culture by projecting the brand to the World.
And Kir Mustapha Lengani, in his youthful fettle, did just that by making Bissa presence felt in a Fante belt.
He is the first ever Bissa Chief of Gomo Fetteh and was installed by the traditional authorities of the land and subsequently endorsed by the Central Regional Council of Bissa Chiefs.
Having already passed through all the rituals in the hands of the Fetteh Traditional Council, he is now set for a formal investiture by the Bissa leadership in October this year.
Below are some selected photos of Kir’s participation at the colourful event.
