The Oyibi Muslim Women and Children Foundation on Saturday embarked on massive charity works, donating items worth thousands of cedis to the aged in the Oyibi township.
Food items and toiletries as well as medical equipment such as wheel chairs were presented to the aged women with a pledge to do more for the vulnerable in the society.
It was an extension of kind gesture, as part of the foundation’s philanthropist moves to earn blessings from the aged and physically challenged.
The donation was led by Executive Director of the Foundation Hajia Khadijah Ali, Magajiya of Oyibi Zongo.
Food items donated included clothes, bags of rice, sugar, groceries, soft drinks as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
Executive Director of the Foundation, Magajiya of Oyibi Zongo Hajia Khadijah, said the NGO chose to embark on the donation exercise to address the plight of aged many of whom are widows and less previleged.
“We all can do the little we can to meet the daily needs of these mothers and fathers of ours,” she said.
“This is a way to go if we want to earn some blessings from them.
“This foundation is for all of us and therefore I will urge individuals and international donors to come to our aid.”
She said the donations were made out of a cheerful heart to suppt women and children in the society.
For their part, the beneficiaries commended the the act of charity by the Foundation for bringing smiles back to the faces of the vulnerable.
According to Hajia Khadijah the Oyibi Muslim Women and Children Foundation will continue to do more for the people in the Community.
