The Oyibi Muslim Women and Children Foundation on Friday 31st December donated items valued at 8000 Ghc to the needy and less privileged of the society, ending the year on generous note.
Sacks of Rice, cooking oil, beverages, toiletries and wheelchairs, were donated to the aged, the needy, and children in the Oyibi community.
Led by its Executive Director Hajia Khadijah Ali Balboni, who is the Magajia of Oyibi Zongo, the foundation ensured it’s end of year charity exercise coincided with the last Friday of the year.
It was to bring back some smiles on the faces of the old and needy as to mark the new year.
Speaking to the media, Magajia Khadijah Ali Balboni, said the foundation was looking at lifting some budens from the aged and the needy.
“As a foundation, we owe it a duty to ensure our old men and women and children enjoy some benefits from what we have gathered,” she said.
“They have played their part in their young age and it’s time to bring back some smiles on their faces.
“As a foundation it’s our aim that we will be able to lift some burdens from poor and the needy.”
She said the extension of kind gesture, as part of the foundation’s philanthropist moves to earn blessings from the aged and physically challenged.
The donation which came on the last day of the year 2021 was the 5th and the biggest to be held by the foundation.
It has previously donated to widows and orphans in that community.
The day was marked with joy as many came out to receive their share of the donation.
Formed two years ago, the foundation has been of immense support to the aged, the poor, and the physically challenged in the society.
Speaking to the media Hajia Khadija expressed gratitude to individuals and donor institutions, who have been supportive of the foundation in carrying its philanthropic exercise.
