With just days to go until the landmark 20th anniversary of the iconic Zekula Festival, the Bissa Development Association (BDA) Northern Regional branch has stepped up with a timely donation of GHS 1000.
It is the latest institution to donate to the Mother Association after the Gomoa Fetteh Palace and the Madina BDA Zone, gave GHS 500 and GHS 1000, respectively.
The financial contribution from the Tamale-based branch comes as part of a wider community mobilisation effort to ensure a successful and memorable celebration of Bissa culture and heritage. According to branch leaders, the Zekula Festival is a cherished event that brings the Bissa people together from all corners, and they are proud to play a part in preserving this vibrant tradition for generations to come.
The festival, slated for May 4th in Kulungungu, attracts over 10,000 participants annually, making it the biggest festival in the Upper East region. More than just a celebration, the Zekula Festival plays a vital role in uniting various Bissa clans and driving community development initiatives. The event fosters unity, cultural exchange, and development for Bissa communities.
