Bissas’ Nihad Iddrisu Ayobi on Saturday won the Miss Popularity category and became the 1st Runner up in the Miss Upper East beauty pageant after receiving huge votes from Bissas across the country.
The Bissa model was the most popular contestant in the competition after launching a last minute campaign to her Bissa folks.
As at 12pm on Friday, she was trailing her main competitor by 192 votes and needed drastic measures to brighten her chances for in the Grand Finale held on the 2nd of January.
Her appeal for more votes hours ahead of the final day of the contest received a huge response from Bissas as she stretched her lead on the voting log and capped it off with a splendid stage performance.
She electrified the entire GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga when she appeared on stage together with her Bissa dancing troop.
She grabbed two awards on day as she won the 1st Runner Up position of the main pageant in addition to being voted as the most popular.
With her her remarkable achievement at the event, the 24-year-old can now begin her project which is jeered towards the well being of disabled children in the society.
The Bissa lady had her basic and junior high school education in Bawku and further went to Islamic girls senior high in Eastern Region.
She currently in her final year at the Valley View University (main campus).
By making Bissas proud, the young model is set for Durbur to be held in her honour by the Bissa Chief of Bawku on Sunday 9th January.
