A young Bissa model Nihad Iddrisu Ayobi has entered the race for the 3rd edition of miss Upper East beauty pageant, calling on friends and families for votes to widen her chances of claiming the prestigious regional crown.
She is the only Bissa among the 12 ladies selected across the region to promote their respective cultures for pride.

She is at the eviction stage, where a contestant will need to pull the highest number of votes to survive and fight on for the crown.
The young lady, who is among the favourites to win the contest, believes a sponsorship or more votes from the Bissa Fraternity will be enough for her to triumph.
Speaking to Bissanewsonline, Nihad, who is in her final year at the Valley View University, said she sees the competition as a springboard to carry on with her project for disabled children in the region.
“I’m passionate about disabled children and that is why am into this contest as a stepping stone to carry out my project, which is about the disabled children and their future,” she said.
“It is a well thought of project that will be advocating for parents to see the need of educating their disabled children in the Bawku municipality and the Upper East region at large.
“I can’t achieve this without your vote and support that is why am calling on friends and family to vote by dialing *858*1*1#. I am number 6 on the list and follow the procedures.”

The twelve contestants are Waiting to be called to camp for live performances out of which six will be evicted to allow the final six to battle it out for the ultimate.
The finals will be in two sections – 30th December which will be a mini show and the grand finale will be on 2nd January.
The first edition of the competition went to Bolgatanga as the second went to Bawku.
But the 3rd edition promises to be keenly contested as it gets bigger and better.
The Bissa lady had her basic and junior high school education in Bawku and further went to Islamic girls senior high in Eastern Region.

Currently in Valley View University (main campus), she has ventured into the contest of Miss upper East Ghana, which she believes a push from the Bissa fraternity will boost her chances for victory.
