The newly-constituted National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Bissa Development Association( BDA) has expressed gratitude to the entire Bissa fraternity for “reposing such high confidence” in its members to steer the affairs of the fraternity.
It comes just 24 hours after the five newly-elected members of the NEC were sworn into office to beging a three-year mandate of leadership task.
A statement issued by the Chairman, Alhaji Shaibu Musah Gutare indicates the NEC’s acceptance of the task and readiness to serve to take the BDA to the higher heights.
“On behalf of the newly sworn in executives of the BDA NEC and on behalf of the yet to be introduced appointed officers for various NEC positions, I wish to thank you all for reposing such high confidence in us to steer the affairs of the BDA for the next 3 years,” Chairman Gutare said.
“To you the good people of Bissa, we appreciate your congratulatory messages and well wishes for the newly born NEC. As most of you pointed out in your messages, the work of BDA is a task for all Bissa people and not NEC alone.”
The inauguration of the NEC took place on 6th March, 2021, marking the start of the three-year term of Alhaji Shaibu Musah as Chairman, Dauda Abdul Salaam as Vice Chairman, Alhaji Issaka Nombre (Weapon) as the Organiser, Saad Kanbusu Seidu as General Secretary and Yamba-Desmond Salami Kassim as the Financial Secretary.
A large number of Bissas watched Saturday’s ceremony on Zoom as Mr. Abdul Karim Dubuire Zanni, from the office of the Lemagan, administered the 120-word oath of office to the new executives , few hours before noon, when they formally inherited the powers of leadership.
The five NEC members went unopposed after becoming the only individuals to have shown interest in contesting the respective positions, which they now occupy.
As a result, no elections were held and were given the nod through a unanimous affirmation by the members of the BDA.
However, the Chairman has the power to appoint other officers to fill the remaining positions.
Chairman Gutare has promised to make the BDA a very vibrant association under his tenure.
In thanking the entire fraternity for the opportunity given to them to serve, he made a clarion call on all Bissas to come together and support the NEC to achieve the targets set.
“We wish to assure you the Bissa people that we are committed as executives to do our part. You must equally do your part when we call on you , so that together, we can achieve a lot.”

Good morning elders and fellow Kinsmen and women. On behalf of the newly sworn in executives of the BDA NEC and on behalf of the yet to be introduced appointed officers for various NEC positions, I wish to thank you all for reposing such high confidence in us to steer the affairs of the BDA for the next 3 years.
Our first gratitude goes to the Almighty God/Allah for the gift of life , health and all the ingredients necessary to manage such a high Office.
We are greatly indebted to the Office of the Lemagan and the Electoral Committee for the various tireless roles played to have a new NEC in place. To you the good people of Bissa, we appreciate your congratulatory messages and well wishes for the newly born NEC. As most of you pointed out in your messages, the work of BDA is a task for all Bissa people and not NEC alone. When we construct the path and the rest of you refuse to follow, the path will soon be lost to weeds and other forces of nature.
Amanda Gorman in her poem to swear-in President Biden noted that, while we have our eyes on the future (for good things), history has its eyes on us (judges our contribution today). This suggests that we can only collectively be fair of our expectations tomorrow if we collectively work today to achieve it.
We wish to assure you the Bissa people that we are committed as executives to do our part. You must equally do your part when we call on you , so that together, we can achieve a lot.
Thank you and God bless us all 🙏🏽
From: SHAIBU MUSAH GUTARE, CHAIRMAN, BDA NEC.
Good very good
