Member of Parliament for New Edubiase Constituency, Abdul-Salaam Adam, has won a second bid to contest the 2024 election on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after winning the party’s primary in a landslide.

Hon. Adam won Saturday’s two-horse race with 975 votes, totally annihilating his contender and a former MP, Earnest Kofi Yanka, who could only poll 28 votes.

The delagates of New Edubiase gave Adam an overwhelming endorsement for next year’s election, just three years into his service to the constituency.

Mr. Yanka, who represented the NDC in Parliament between 2005 and 2017, lost the 2016 election to the NPP.

However, in his first time as a candidate, Hon. Adam reclaimed the seat for the NDC during the 2020 election.

He is one of just two Bissa MPs in Parliament out of six, who contested the 2020 elections.

He is a member of the Local Government and Rural Development committee of Parliament.
