The Bissa Chief of New Bortianor, Bortianor and New Weija (NBN) will, on Sunday May 8th, host the general Bissa populace in an Eid-ul Fitr banquet.
It is an all-Bissa “meet and fete” affair backed by glamour in building a Bissa honour, according to official statement by the Sare Palace.
Dubbed the ‘Zekula Sallah Fiesta’, the event brings together Chiefs, elders, religious leaders and the general Bissa people to dine and fraternise in Zekula fashion as they thank the almighty “Wusu” (God) for a successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The May 8th grand event comes along with other heart-touching activities to climax the Eid celebration as Kir Sare draws the crowd to his magnificent Palace at Weija.
A colourful durbar of Chiefs, a sumptuous feast, a beautiful cultural display and an overwhelming networking await Bissas on the day, with Greater Accra Bissa Chief, Kir Mohamed Ali Dabre III, as the Guest of Honour.
It is the second Bissa gathering in a matter of weeks in the capital following the Bissa Development Associstion (BDA)’s maiden “Zekula Poore” conference at the GNAT Hall on 16th April.
But the Zekula Sallah Fiesta rather comes in packed with pomp and pageantry in a traditional Bissa settings.
And it is in line with the BDA’s call to have more of such gatherings across regions and communities for the purpose of Bissa unity.
Speaking to bissanewsonline ahead of the day, Kir Sare said the merry-making event is not limited to only Muslims.
“It is an all Bissa affair despite the fact that we are celebrating Eid,” he said.
“It is a moment to meet and fete, fraternise and dialogue in building a stronger Zekula bond amongst ourselves.”
With prominent Bissa men and women in attendance, the day offers a rare opportunity for the youth to meet and strike up a thrilling conversation with some powerful individuals in the society.
Kir Suallah Saeed Sare is one of the youthful Chiefs in the Greater Accra region, whose ascension to the seat of leadership has added more hopes to the Bissa fraternity due to his absolute generosity.
He is an internationally accomplished business man, a philanthropist and development-oriented Chief, from the Sare clan.
Besides his Bissa leadership role for the three communities, he doubles as the Sardawna (Prime Minister) of Bortianor Zongo.
Barely a year into his administration, he has been able to come up with some initiatives in the area of Education and Employment as part of his policies to put Bissa on the World Map.
However, Sunday’s Fiesta marks his maiden grand event at his palace since his coronation on May 22nd last year and it comes few weeks ahead of his 1st Anniversary celebration as the Bissa Chief of New Bortianor, Bortianor and New Weija.
