Muniratu Bandaogo: Murdered Bissa lady to be buried on Wednesday

Munira Moro Bandaogo, the Bissa lady alleged to have been murdered in her husband’s home in Abeka, will be buried on Wednesday October 5th, according to the latest update by the Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs.

At a council meeting at the Dabre Palace on Saturday, October 1, the leadership, together with the Bandaogo family, resolved to bury the young lady.

whose body has been in the morgue for 30 days due to the circumstances surrounding her death.

She is believed to have been murdered in cold blood in her matrimonial home.

It has been a lengthy investigative exercise since the September 6 tragedy.

But the leadership is convinced enough has been gathered to begin legal proceedings.

She will be “laid to rest” at Madina Muslim cemetery, in accordance with Islamic traditions, ” a statement by the Dabre Palace read.

“The President of the Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs, Chirr Mohamed Ali Dabre III, in consultation with the Council of Bissa Chiefs and family members of the late Muniratu Moro Bandaogo and other well-wishers, has agreed that Munira should be laid to rest at a meeting held yesterday at Chief Dabre’s Palace in Nima as follows,” it said.

“We should all converge on the Police Hospital Mortuary by 9:00 am, In Shaa Allah.”

The Bissa leadership had sat on the issue for the third week in a row, deliberating on how to get justice for the young lady whose death had become a major talking point across the country.

At present, Munira lies in the morgue, and on Wednesday will be 27 days since her remains have been kept for examination.

The 32-year-old got married as a second wife, causing her to move from her Mamobi residence to her husband’s house in Abeka, Accra.

However, the young customs officer had spent just 9 days in her marriage when she was allegedly murdered at her new home.

She is said to have been found lifeless in a pool of blood with a cut in her throat and thigh.

She began her marital life on August 28th, while her entire life ended on September 6th, creating a sad picture in the minds of family and friends.

Her death has caused a public uproar, and the call for justice is at its loudest across the Zongo communities, a situation that precipitated her early burial being blocked.

A legal case has already been opened in court with her husband and the first wife being kept in custody.
