Chairman of the Bissa Development Association (BDA) Alhaji Shaibu Musa Guatare Zanni

Fellow Kinsmen and Women, I bring you greetings from the Lemagan, his Council of Elders and the National Executive Committee of the Bissa Development Association (BDA).

The above structures of the BDA have taken note of the content of some audios making rounds on social media, allegedly authored by some Kusasi youth.

The content of the said audio messages seeks among others to suggest that:

a. Bissas should not be enskined as Chiefs in their communities but relegated to tribal Chiefs.

b. Bissas should not be permitted to perform our annual festival, Zekula.

c. Bissa lands in Kulungungu, Bador and other communities should belong to Kusasis.

As a temporary response, the Office of the Lemagan and Council of Elders wish to communicate as follows:

1. The Office of Lemagan and council of Elders will embark on an emergency visit to Bawku area to consult with stakeholders and investigate the issue.

2. A communique will be issued for the information of all after the consultation and investigation

3. In the meantime and in order not to further inflame passions, all are entreated to refrain from discussing or passing comments on this issue.

We urge the various Bissa youth groups and all Bissas to Collaborate with the BDA and channel all grievances (if any) for the attention of leadership.

BISSA WOO, BISSA
ZEKULA N’PANGA

FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE OFFICE OF THE LEMAGAN/COUNCIL OF ELDERS :

ALHAJI SHAIBU MUSAH GUTARE
CHAIRMAN, NEC, BDA.
