There was a massive turnout at Techiman on Sunday 1st August, as the Executives of the Bissa Development Association visit the Bono East Capital for its Sensitisation and Reorganisation Exercise.

The NEC arrived in Techiman to wrap up it’s two weeks tour of four regions in a mission to revive the Regional and Zonal branches of the association.

It came just day after carrying a similar exercise in the Upper West regional capital  Wa to begin the phase 3 of the regional tour.

Led by the Chairman Alhaji Shaibu Musah Gutare Zanni, the BDA completed it’s phase 2 and 3 of the exercise at Techiman, explaining the Strategic Goals set by the National Executive Committee (NEC).

It was the last of the five venues visited by the team after Tamale, Bolgatanga, Bawku and Wa.

Addressing the gathering at residence of the former Bissa Chief at Mamprusi Line, Chairman Gutare Zanni enumerated what the Association’s 3-year Strategic Goals is about, urging members to play active roles for successful implementation.

“Other tribes are where they are now because they walked and did everything in unity to build a worthy image,” he said.

“Bissas have the men and women to build a proud brand but we have been struggling because we have opted to walk in isolation.

“The new administration has developed these Strategic Goals that covers pertinent issues facing the Bissa people – from education and employment to health and building a united front across the country.”

Chairman Gutare also urged the members to attach seriousness to the speaking of the Bissa language and dedicate time to train the up and coming children.

He revealed that it is part of the BDA’s  plan to launch a campaign that will encourage  Bissas to learn to speak the language.

Below is the highlight of the Strategic Goals

1. ImproveRevenue- Dues , donations, investments, etc.

2. Strengthen and set up fully functioning Regional and Zonal BDA structures.

3. Improve Bissa Culture through: Language, Chiefs, Zekula Festival, Bissa Music and Movie Industry.
