A Quran recitation has been held to mark the establishment of the Lenganis Association to push forward the development of all Bissas of Tangari descent.
It is an association of brothers and sisters of the same lineage searching for common grounds on which they can help one another.
Saturday’ 11th September marked the beginning of their meeting and it came with a call on other Lenganis across the country and abroad to join in the unity agenda.
Speaking to Bissanewsonline, the Bissa Chief of Gomoan Fetteh Mustapha Dawda Lingani said it’s about time the clans began to mobilise themselves in their own small way to ensure every Bissa gets helped from a brother or a sister.
“It’s time for all members of Bissas to identify themselves in their little corner to contribute towards the general Zekula Agenda,” he said.
“Let every sub group take the initiative to call on a brother or sister to feel he or she isnt walking alone.
“It is our little drops of efforts from clan to clan that can help us to develop into a mighty ethnic group with a united voice.”
He urged other Bissas to start calling on their blood brothers within their clan to come together support each other for the betterment of the fraternity.
“We formed this association basically for us to know ourselves as people,” he said.
“We the Lengani’s are many across country but we don’t really know ourselves because we are scattered across the length breadth of the country.
“We are appealing to all Lengani to join the association for us to know ourselves better and to help those who are in need.
Bissas of of various clans with their unique clan appellations.
Lengani is the appellation for Bissas who trace their lineage to the Tangari Clan.
