Mustapha Latifa Sangou, a Bissa student at Ghana Telecom University, has announced her candidacy for the position of Student Representative Council (SRC) President for the 2024 academic year, reaching out to the Bissa community for financial support.
Sangou, currently serving as the Deputy Chair of the SRC Welfare Committee, is preparing to launch her campaign next week with a team of about 2000 members, which comes with considerable organizational capacity reflecting her strong support base within the campus.
In her appeal, she highlighted what makes her a top candidate in the election scheduled for July 21st, 2024.
“I am writing to inform you that I have made the decision to take on this leadership role, and I am reaching out to ask for your support.”
“With a strong campaign team of over 2000 members, I believe that my experience, passion, and commitment to serving the students of Ghana Telecom University make me an ideal candidate for this position.
“As a welfare deputy chair, I have had the opportunity to work closely with students from all levels, particularly the L100s. I was part of the SRC help desk, providing assistance with course registration and sharing valuable resources such as past questions.”
Her influence at the university extends beyond her SRC involvement. At the 2022 Association of Computing Students (ACS) Awards and Dinner, Sangou won both the “Best Student Influencer” and “Best Sportswoman” categories, highlighting her popularity and diverse talents.
These accolades, combined with her experience assisting first-year students and negotiating with the academic board, make her a strong contender in the upcoming race.
Invoking the Bissa motto “Zekula Npanga,” Sangou called for unity, saying, “I believe with your support, this can be achieved with ease. I urge Bissas to join hands with me as I embark on this journey.”
To finance her campaign, Sangou has provided a mobile money account (0245286093) for contributions. She plans to pick up her nomination form on Wednesday, July 3rd, officially launching her campaign.
Sangou’s bid continues a trend of Bissa students pursuing leadership roles in tertiary education, emphasizing the community’s growing involvement in university politics.
As the campaign season approaches, her strong track record and popularity position her as a frontrunner in what promises to be a closely watched election at Ghana Telecom University.

Dear Bissa Community,
I hope this message finds you well. As we navigate another challenging election year, I am excited to announce that I, Mustapha Latifa Sangou, am throwing my hat into the ring to run for the position of SRC President in 2024. As a current student of Ghana Telecom University and Deputy Chair of the SRC Welfare Committee, I have had the privilege of working with the SRC since my first year on campus.
I am writing to inform you that I have made the decision to take on this leadership role, and I am reaching out to ask for your support. With a strong campaign team of over 2000 members, I believe that my experience, passion, and commitment to serving the students of Ghana Telecom University make me an ideal candidate for this position.
As a welfare deputy chair, I have had the opportunity to work closely with students from all levels, particularly the L100s. Last week, I successfully negotiated with the academic board to extend the deadline for fee payment, which was a significant achievement that demonstrates my ability to make a positive impact on student life.
My dedication to serving students has earned me their trust and admiration, making me a favorite among other candidates. If elected as SRC President. As the Bissa motto states, “Zekula Npanga” I believe with your support, this can achieve with ease. I urge Bissas to join hands with me as I embark on this journey.
I plan to pick up my nomination form on Wednesday, July 3rd, and I am counting on your support to help me raise some fund as I set to begin my campaign next week. Together, we can make a difference and create a better experience.
Thank you for considering my candidacy. I look forward to your support in this journey.
