The Bissa Students Association of the Islamic University College Ghana (IUCG) has honoured the Bissa Chief of Bortianor and Weija, Kir Suallah Saeed Sari, for his positive impact on the Bissa people in Greater Accra.
In an extraordinary gesture of appreciation, Kir Suallah Saeed Sari, Chief of the Bissa community, was presented with a citation by the Bissa Student Union of the Islamic University College Ghana.
In a ceremony held at Kir’s palace in New Bortianor on Saturday, the student group presented Chief Sari with a citation acknowledging his efforts in supporting education, economic empowerment, and cultural promotion among the Bissa community.
This comes following his support for the student body during its participation in the annual Rep Your Culture contest organised by the school’s SRC, which Bissa won for the second time in succession.
He was recognised for initiatives such as establishing educational scholarships for Bissa youth, investing in infrastructure development in Bissa communities, preserving Bissa cultural heritage, and serving as an advocate for Bissa issues on various platforms.
“We are proud to honour Chief Sari for being an inspirational leader and role model. He has been instrumental in advancing the Bissa people through his visionary leadership,” said Mr. Amin Yallah, the leader of the delegation.
It was a moment of glory when the Bissas grabbed back-to-back victories in the Rep Your Culture event, and it was refreshing when they returned to the Palace, in Zekula fashion, to show appreciation to the young Chief, who contributed immensely for their participation.
And the citation bestowed on the Chief significantly served as an acknowledgement of his relentless support and dedication towards the development of the Bissa community, earning him high praise from the student body.
In his remarks, the honoured chief expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to continue working for the upliftment of people in his community.
“I am humbled by this honour from our youth, who are the future. It motivates me to keep making positive change possible for all Bissa people through progress and inclusion,” Chief Sari said.
He emphasised the importance of collective efforts in driving progress and committed to continuing his tireless work towards the welfare and advancement of the Bissa community.
Chief Sari has served as the Chief for the Bissa people of Bortianor and New Weija since 2021, promoting socio-economic advancement.
He has long been hailed as a visionary leader, committed to advancing the progress and empowerment of the Bissa people in Ghana.
The Bissa Student Union, representing the voices of the student population in the IUCG, took this opportunity to recognise and honour his remarkable contributions so far in his two years of leadership.
