Bissa Chief of Gomoa Fetteh Kir Mustapha Dawuda Lengani will on Saturday 3rd September, 2022, lead an entourage to this year’s Akwambo Festival.
It marks a huge representation of Bissas at the annual Festival celebrated by the people of Gomoa Fetteh.
The young and dynamic Bissa Chief is gracing a Grand Durbar of Chiefs on the day, as the Festival, which began on the 25th of last month, nears an end.
It comes upon an invitation from the Paramount Chief of Central Regional town, being one of the most respected Chiefs is in the town.
Saturday’s Grand Durbar dubbed “Ahorbaa Kɛse” is the penultimate event for the 2022 Akwambo Festival which celebrated across ten days period.
Hundreds of Chiefs are expected to grace the occasion that brings people together in remembrance of Egya Ahor who gave up himself to be sacrificed to stop an epidemic.
Ahor laid down his life so that his people could be saved from a plague which attacked and killed many of them after their migration from Techiman to their present settlements.
The Grand durbar is usually held near the end of the festival of which Community leaders and chiefs are carried in a procession of drummers, dancers, singers.
