The Bissa Chief of Ashiaman Kir Uthman Issa Bansi has profoundly endorsed the six strategic goals of the Bissa Development Association (BDA), urging his people to actively join the Association in building a stronger fraternity.
Hosting the BDA executives of Greater Accra at his palace on Saturday, Kir said the time has come for Bissas to strengthen their ties among one another.
He said all the strategic goals of the BDA are panaceas for building a formidable fraternity, thanking the association for visiting his palace to sensitize the people of Ashiaman.
“We thank you for choosing a day like this to visit us and explain to us what the BDA is about,” he said.
“I have listened to your presentation, and I must say I am overwhelmed by what is contained in your six strategic goals. I personally endorse it.
The onus now lies on all of us here in Ashaiman to embrace it. “We must be seen to be playing an active role in the Zekula campaign.”
He expressed worry over the gross disregard of Bissas’ right to speak their own language and charged the BDA to work on improving Bissa culture and language, which form parts of the goals.
An eleven-member team of the BDA, made up of 3 from the national and 9 from the Greater Accra Interim Regional Executive Committee (GIREC), visited the Ashaiman community to sensitise the people about the BDA goals.
And more than a hundred people turned up for the meeting that ended on high notes.
Executives took turns explaining the aims and objectives of the BDA to the people.
As part of plans to strengthen the Bissa fraternity, goal 2 of the BDA talks about establishing regional and zonal structures.
Ashaiman therefore becomes one of the communities earmarked to be registered as a zone of the BDA, a move that has received an overwhelming welcome from the people.
