As the world marks International Women’s Day, we salute our Bissa women in every part of the country.
As mothers, you nurtured us for nine months in your wombs without complaining of fatigue. You endured childbirth with pleasure and excitement.
As Chefs, you scavenged for firewood in the savanna grassland for both domestic and commercial purposes. You ensured that a calabash full of TZ and an earthenware bowl of soup is always available at least in the evening to nourish the family.
As farmers, you tilted the land to grow your ingredients and basic food which you stored all year round.
As physicians, you researched into all kinds of medicinal plants which you treated your children and husbands alike. No wonder the ‘bentua’ is always as close as the doctor’s stethoscope.
As wives, your submission to your husbands is not comparable to any. Your generosity knows no measure, such that you gladly share your husbands with other rivals peacefully.
As maidens, you are as pure as the morning dew. You preserved your self pure until you were married.
On behalf of all Bissa men, we say HAPPY WOMENS DAY! We appreciate you all and may God/Allah continue to bless you.
