Black Stars B Coach Ibrahim Tanko has waded into the discussion about Asante Kotoko’s Fabio Gama, advising the Brazilian import to “improve on the physical aspect” of his game.
Fabio Gama has been one of Kotoko’s best players so far season, and on his full debut provided the assist for the opener in the game against Liberty Professionals.
But the Borussia Dortmund legend believes it will take more of the Brazilian’s physical strength to be able to survive in the Ghana Premier League.
In his analysis of the 27-year-old and his addition to the Ghana Premier, Tanko said an uptick of Gama’s ability will do a lot of good to Kotoko and the player himself.
The former Ghana international, is impressed by the performances of Gama in the domestic league but insists the Brazilian would have to work on his physical play to succeed in the Ghana Premier League.
“Undoubtedly, he [Gama] is a very good footballer. when you see him with the ball at his feet, you’re easily convinced he’s a good player,” Tanko told Kessben TV.
“What’s left is for him to improve on the physical aspect of the game. Ghana football is 80 percent physical. Hopefully, he should get stronger in the second half [of the season]. Aside from that, he is a very good player.”
Fabio Gama every single game of Kotoko since marking his debut against Medeama.
Asante Kotoko lies third on the Premier League table, just two points behind leaders Karela, who they visit on Sunday.
