The outgoing president of the Bissa Student Association of KNUST, Ayembilla Hamza Inusah, has been voted as Vice president of the school’s Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), beating his Bissa brother Suleman Mohammed with 53 percent.

It was a two-horse race between the two Bissa brothers, but it was Hamza, who polled 328 out of the total 623 votes cast to pick another mantle in his political journey, as his competitor garnered 295 in the election held on Thursday, August 3.

Hamza and Sulemana, brothers hailing from a tight-knit Bissa fraternity, inadvertently became competitors in a closely watched race that captivated the Umbrella Party as they displayed a health kinship rivalry in zealously contested polls.

The TEIN elections had always been hotly contested, but this particular race took on a unique twist as the two, known for their close relationship, found themselves battling for the same position.

However, Suleman’s 295 votes were not enough to defeat Hamza, who is also the Chairperson of the Faculty of Sciences.

As the election campaign reached its climax, tensions soared. Both brothers presented well-thought-out manifestos, promising to bring positive change and progress to the TEIN organisation. Their captivating speeches and tireless campaign efforts left everyone in awe, further intensifying the competition.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as supporters gathered to witness this one-of-a-kind political showdown.

Friends and colleagues were taken aback by the unusual situation, unsure of how this fierce rivalry would impact their bond.

The scene was nothing short of breathtaking as the two brothers, each armed with charisma and determination, vied for the coveted leadership role within TEIN, which is the umbrella name for all NDC students in all Tertiary institutions in Ghana.

The air crackled with excitement as supporters passionately championed their favourite candidate, knowing that the outcome would shape the course of the organisation’s future.

However, when the final votes were counted and the results were announced, Hamza emerged as the victorious candidate, securing the coveted Vice President position.

With impeccable political acumen and a compelling vision for TEIN’s growth, Hamza emerged triumphant, leaving a lasting impact on the minds of the voters. It was his ability to articulate his ideals, connect with the electorate, and inspire confidence that propelled him to victory.

Hamza’s victory was made even sweeter by the fact that he garnered an impressive 53% of the votes cast, further solidifying his position as the people’s choice for the TEIN Vice Presidency.

A scene from the campus shows supporters rejoicing as they saw their candidate triumph, recognising his potential for bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and transformative leadership to the forefront.

Hamza’s win signals a promising future for the NDC, fueled by inclusivity, dynamism, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

The brotherly contest, though intense, serves as a reminder of the power of democracy, the significance of individual voices, and the potential for positive change.

The beautiful scene of two Bissa brothers contesting for the TEIN Vice President position might be etched in Bissa’s history, as the noble contest serves as a testament to their shared commitment to the Zekula goals and their desire to contribute positively to the organisation’s success.

With his new position, Hamza is set to hand over the leadership mantle of the Bissa Student Union of KNUST to a new person in a ceremony to be held next week.
