Hajia Fati Sabri: Bissas’ International Fashion designer ‘Mama Abuja’ shockingly dies

The CEO of Mama Abuja Collection Limited and member of the Bissa Women’s Wing, Hajia Fati Amidu Sabri, has died, the association has reported.

Not many details are known, but the reports indicate the internationally recognized fashion designer died on Monday, February 7, shortly after complaining of “not feeling too good.”

Known in the fashion industry by the brand name “Mama Abuja,” she has also employed international designers from Nigeria, Senegal, and the Gambia, who are working for her in Ghana.

The hardworking fashion expert, from the Sabri Clan, has been a member of the Bissa Women’s Wing since its formative days last year.
She has trained hundreds in fashion designing and was earmarked to bring her expertise to bear when the Women’s Wing begins rolling out its training programs to empower the Bissa youth.

Her expertise spans the continent, and she is one of the many designers in Ghana whose works have hit the international market, a feat that has earned many accolades.

She has since been buried in accordance with Islamic practices.

Hajia Fati, a fashion mogul of international repute, was married, and she is survived by five children—three girls and two boys.

Tributes are already pouring in from members of the wing, which was established by the BDA to champion the course of Bissa women.

According to the family, the 3rd-day intercessory prayers (dua) will be held on Thursday, February 9, at her New Legon residence.
