Garu Bissa chief dies at 101

The Bissa Chief of Garu Alhaji Issah Dumburi has died aged 101.

Kir Issah Dumburi died on Tuesday  afternoon and will be buried  on Wednesday in line with Islamic tradition, family statement indicate.

His death was earlier reported on the various social media platforms and was subsequently confirmed by his daughter Fatima Issau.

“Yes I have lose my dad today and am already on my way to Garu,” she said.

The centenarian  took ill  two months ago but passed on at his residence, the report added.

His dedicated service  to  Bissas  dates back to his boyhood days when he was working at the Asante Akyem Government Hospital in Ashanti region.

He became the Bissa Chief of Garu some few years back after  succeeding  his late brother.

He was survived by two wives, 22 children and 62 grandchildren.
