Funeral held for Mr Ibrahim Wuntah as Bissas pay tribute to the late business mogul

Funeral has been held for Mr Ibrahim Wuntah with prayers and tributes from the Bissa fraternity.

It comes just a week after his death, which the fraternity described as a “huge loss”.
Mr Wunta, who was the president of the Rotary club Accra East, died on Sunday 21st June at the age of 49 after a short illness.

A private funeral service was held at his Agyiringano residence on 28th June, in keeping with covid-19 restrictions.
Sunday’s funeral attracted some top brass of the Bissa fraternity, who attended the event to pray for the business mogul.

His death is seen as big loss to the Bissa family as many continue to pay  tribute to the man, who has been described as a “colossus” and regarded as one of the role models for the young Bissas.

“A collosus within the Bissa fraternity has fallen,” a statement by the Bissa Development Association read.

“Indeed a deep galley has been created of his sudden demise and this comes as a shock to most members here.

“BDA has indeed lost an affable, hardworking, softhearted and very friendly brother.We have lost a reformer. Our condolences to the bereaved family, the BDA and Bissas in general.

“May Allah Subhanahuu Wata’alaa forgive and have His mercies on his gentle soul.”

He was a technocrat who stretched out  his tentacles of  expertise to touch many people across the country, Bissas and Non-Bissas alike.

The  Rotary Club of Accra East, has already held a virtual memorial service in his honour, having being the president for the 2019/2020 years.

He was slated to hand over the presidency in the very week he died as it is a position held yearly on a rotational bases.

The Bissa Fitness Club Gh also gave a recount of its relationship with the late business mogul, and had its members making a fair representation at the funeral on  Sunday.

An earlier statement issued by the club described him as a “brother”, while they sought God’s forgiveness for the man who had shown interest to be part of the keep fit group.

“We lost a hardworking brother and a member of the Bissa Study Group Mr. Ibrahim Wunta, the official statement read.

“We went to him during our launching and he welcomed us with a lovely arms.He gave us lots of advises on how to run this noble club and promise to be with us soon but Allah is the best knower.

“May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdaws.Ameeen,” it added.

Working with Mr Ibrahim Wunta has been described as “more interesting and inspiring,” according to one his employees.

Siita Baba spoke to Bissanewsonline about the demise of his boss Mr Wuntah

Speaking to Bissanewsonline, Siita Baba acknowledged, that having worked with Wuntah has added enormous experience to his life.

“He is very straight person, make sure he finishes all what he want to do before living the office and always ready for a new challenge, ” Sitta said.
 “Always ready to support others to achieve success in their businesses. He is very very  generous if I may add.”

Mr Wuntah, an iconic figure in the Bissa fraternity, is survived by a wife and three children.

Mr. Wuntah was a very accomplished professional with over 25 years’ career experience across a broad range of disciplines. He was a Cisco Certified Professional and a Cisco Trainer of Trainers with certification from the CISCO Academy in Ethiopia. He held an MCSE, MCDBA, MCP, a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Telecommunications from the Gates institute of Technology, India and an EMBA in Management from the Ghana institute of Management and Public Administration. Mr. Wuntah was the CEO of Wi Tech Group since 2004 and had built an exemplary suite of businesses that have enjoyed immense success from his leadership style. He was a very hands-on individual with a burning drive for consistent self-development in all areas that he found a comfortable challenge in. He led by being on the forefront with his team while building a relationship with his board to enable him directly relate executive business decisions with customer point of service delivery and overall business growth.

  1. I remember the lead role I played towards his marriage to his lovely wife(Rashida). I will cherish my association with Mr. Ibrahim Wunta. He is really an icon. We love him but Allah the creator loves him more.
    May Allah shower him with His mercies and grant him jannatu fridaus.
