Five Bissa women entrepreneurs received a financial boost on Friday thanks to the generosity of Bissa Chief Kir Suallah Saeed Sare and his Sare’s Sare Education and Business Empowerment (SEBE) project.
The Bissa Chief of Bortianor and Weija, Kir Suallah Saeed Sare, brought smiles to the five women who are new beneficiaries of the project, which is intended to help these women grow their businesses and achieve greater financial independence.
These are the new batch of women entrepreneurs who have been cushioned by the Chief after giving similar support to some twenty women in May this year.
The SEBE project, an initiative started by Kir Sare this year, aims to empower Bissas through education, vocational skills training, and microfinance for small businesses.
The women, who are involved in selling provisions, fabrics, and food items, received sums ranging from GHS 500 to GHS 1500 to boost their trading businesses selling provisions, fabrics, and prepared foods.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Kir Sare said, “I am happy to support these hardworking women as part of my vision to uplift Bissa women economically. The SEBE project is dear to my heart, and I hope to reach more women this year.”
Women entrepreneurs often face significant challenges, including limited access to capital, a lack of skills training, and cultural barriers.
But the SEBE project comes to the rescue as it has the potential to create jobs, boost income, and contribute to poverty reduction among Bissas.
The beaming recipients thanked the chief profusely for the support. Maimuna Issah, who received GHS 1000 for her fabric business, said, “This money will help me buy more inventory and grow my business. I am so grateful to Kir Sari for thinking of us Bissa women.”
Kir Sare advised the women to use the money judiciously and promised continued support for deserving women who showed dedication. The SEBE project has so far supported over 50 Bissa women since its inception. Kir Sari funds the project through donations from well-wishers.
