Greater Accra Bissa FC will this afternoon seek to redeem their fatherly image when they come into a Semi Final clash with the Mossis in the ongoing Zongo Intertribal Gala.
It is an opportunity for the Bissas to rewrite the wrongs of last two weeks or could be a stage for the Mossis to further punish their opponents today.
Both sides are making their first ever appearance in the Semi-final but it is their second meeting in this year’s tournament.
The Mossis will appear more motivated after they triumphed over the Bissas 4:3 in penalty shootouts when the two met in their opening game of the competition.
However, the Bissas looked poised to make it to the Grand Finale following a scintillating display in their last two matches that has seen them beat the Akans by 1-0 and eliminating the definitely champions Zabarma by 9-8 in a dramatic shootouts.
Qualifying for the Semi Final means the Bissas have made a step further after being eliminated by the Kotokolis in the last edition.
But it is represents a huge jump for the Mossis who could not make any impact in that competition.
The second edition of the Zongo Intertribal Gala has been more competitive but Today’s match promises to be more exciting.
The tournament is meant to promote and consolidate the peacful coexistence between ethnice groups in the region but the match between the Bissas and Mossis comes with a huge interest due to several angles of supremacy claim.
It is a contest for a place in the Grand Finale but a win to either side has an effect that goes beyond football.
Per history, Bissas are fathers to the Mossis and the team managed by Saani Mohammed Bansie will seek to ensure the fatherly authority of the ancient Bissa Hunter comes into reflection on the grassless pitch of Kanda Cluster of Schools.
But the Mossis may have other ideas to prove that a child can always grow to become better than his parents after by dint of hardwork.
