The Bissa Chief of Darkuman Abdul Razak Umar Bambara has sent his felicitations to the Bissa people and the  leadership of the Islamic Communities across the country on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr,

Millions of Muslims around the world celebrated the Eid al-Fitr on Sunday to mark the end of fasting of Ramadan.

Eid al-Fitr, which  means “festival of the breaking of the fast”,  is one of the biggest celebrations in the Islamic calender.

This year’s celebration looked quite different as the ban on social gatherings is still in operation, as the Ghana battles the coronavirus.

Having been at helm barely seven months ago, Chief Bambara joined a list of traditional leaders who used the occasion to congratulate Muslims, both within and outside the Bissa fraternity, “for the successful execution of religious duty”.

” I warmly congratulate all Muslims in the Darkuman community and across the world for the successful execution of religious duty,” Chief Bambara said in a statement copied to bissanewsonline.wordpress.com.

Eid ul-Fitr commemorates the completion of 30 days of fasting by Muslims in the month of Ramadan.

Billion others around the globe celebrated this Eid ul-Fitr amid the coronovirus scare.

Traditionally the festival at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan is marked with communal prayers in mosques, visits to friends and family.

People head to local mosques and parks for special Eid prayers followed by festive gatherings, gift exchanges, and feasts among friends, neighbors and families.

But the atmosphere was starkly different on Sunday as Muslim communities in the country had to celebrate it virtually in strict observance of the measures that have been brought in to curb the spread of the virus.

Chief Bambara took the occasion to remind Muslims about their connection with the God, in the midst of the challenges of the pandemic.

The affable and astute business man urged Muslims to rely on Allah as he prayed for blessings for the world.

“This year has been more of a challenge as the Coronavirus keeps hitting hard on humanity,” he said.

“It’s my prayer that the blessings of Ramadan will mark the beginning of the end of this virus which has ravaged the earth.”

I warmly congratulate all Muslims in the Darkuman community and across the world for the successful execution of religious duty. May the celebration of this day to climax the Ramadan bring to us a new dawn of hope and prosperity.

May the spiritual renewal the world is experiencing today and the days ahead, as a result of this spiritual exercise, help us to unite more as a people of one common destiny.

As the Eid marks the end of Ramadan, it marks a new beginning for each individual, – Bissa and non-Bissa -a reason to celebrate and express gratitude the almighty Allah for granting us such a blessed day.

This year has been more of a challenge as the Coronavirus keeps hitting hard on humanity, turning against businesses. But the almighty remains our only refuge in these trial moments.

May he guide and protect you. May Allah grant you grace and the desires of your heart.May he accept our good deeds, prayers, sacrifices and may this blessed occasion return with peace, happiness, and prosperity. Eid Mubarak.
