Black Star B coach Ibrahim Tanko has a well wishing message to Asante Kotoko ans urged Ghanaians and fans of the Club to give “the needed support” to the team in their Champions League encounter with Al Hilal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

He believes with Kotoko being the sole representative of the country in the continental contest, their success will make the country proud.

“To all fans of the Porcupine Warriors and all stakeholders, let’s offer Asante Kotoko players and the technical team the needed support to make Ghana proud on the continent
I wish you well in your game today,” Coach Tanko said in a tweet.

Tanko clearly has an interest in the performances of Ghana’s domestic clubs having assume the leadership of the Black Star B, that competes in only continental and regional tournament like the CHAN and WAFU.

Ever since the continental competitions started this season, he has been a one big soccer ambassador rallying support for Ghanaians campaigners.

His call has been backed by the country’s Ministry of sports, who have earlier revealed Government’s  support for the club to boost their chances  in winning an African laurel for the first time in 37 years.

Kotoko, after a 1-1 draw against Nouadhibou away, had a walk over in the second league when a misunderstanding over Covid-19 test got the match called off.

The Ghanaian giants are  playing the Sudanese side on Wednesday after sacking their coach Maxwell Konadu following a 1-0 lost to Accra Great Olympics.

It is their second 3rd clash in two a year following their two-legged meetings in the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup in the 2018/19 season.

Assistant coach Johnson Smith leads the Porcupines into the tough duel and convincing win against  Hilal will brighten their chances in their 4th consecutive Africa campaign.
