Black Star B coach Ibrahim Tanko on Saturday joined Bissa Fitness Club in their Special Independent Day aerobics at the Fadama Astros Turf, becoming the poster figure for the day.
The BFC had carried it’s aerobic activities to the Fadama Community on a day the nation was celebrating her 64 years milestone, but it was the participation of the club’s patron that added more colour to event.
The day was just meant for a routine exercise for healthy living in unity but it equally became a moment of striking rare familiarity with a Bissa celebrity.
The Borussia Dortmund legend, who is the patron of the BFC, electrified the event, which was also graced by Chiefs and other prominent members of the Bissa fraternity.
Speaking after the exercise , the soft-spoken Coach urged the members to keep up with the regular exercise, which he said is “very important” for healthy living.
“It is always a wonderful feeling to join on such occasions for such a very important activity, which is always good for our health,” he said.
“If you look at the atmosphere and the huge number of people here today, you can easily tell it is the sense of unity and togetherness among us that has made it possible.
“I will appeal to all each and every member of this club to show dedication and all the seriousness needed to keep this unique club move forwared.”
The workout was organised under the auspices of Council of Elders of the keep Fit Club.
Over 200 members made it to the venue and had a professional instructors, led by Haruna Yankini, taking them through the drills amid a rhythmic musical beat.
It was the first time the club had visited the inner City of Fadama for such activities, having operated more often at the Accra Sports Stadium for the past two years.
The workout came as one of the specially organised session to have the club’s activities extended across the region.
Clad in their branded Green and White T shirts, it was the green Turf of Fadama that felt the dancing feet of the Bissa men and women.
It also turned out to be a day when the newly built Astros Turf had the visit of a national hero like Ibrabim Tanko, who was nick-named “Bullet” in his playing days
Ibrahim Anyars, a son of the Bissa Chief of Kumasi, former Black Star striker, a UEFA champions League winner, and a Legend of SC Freiburg partook in Saturday’s workout to encourage to exercise the body for healthy and fitness purposes.
