The Bissa chief of New York Chir Abdullah Abubakar Gambo has reiterated the importance of living in “Zekula”, charging Bissas to embrace unity for “our own benefits as a fraternity”.
He believes the time has come for all Bissas to come out with passion to establish closer ties with one another for a common good.
Speaking at a high-powered meeting by the Bissa Association of North America (BANA) on Saturday, Chir Gambo called on all Bissas around the globe to come out and embrace what almighty God has chosen for them.
He said Bissas are in the best ethnic group but what is lacking is the unity drive.
“We are Bissas because God in his own wisdom wanted us to be Bissas, he said.
‘If God has chosen Bissa for us, then that is the best ethnic group for us and nothing else.
“For Allah knows what is best for HIS servant. Therefore everything we do to better Bissa, is a sign of showing our appreciation for what God has chosen for us.
He bemoaned the practice of some Bissas pretending to belong to a different ethnic group for lack of confidence in themselves.
“You can’t continue living in pretence as someone you are not,” he said
“I know the lack of unity is a contributing factor to this phenomena but the steps to unity must begin with you and I.
“So today I urge each and every Bissa to come out, be visible to show to the world your pride of where God has placed you. This is the time”
Ssturday’s meeting held at the Jerome and 205th street in New York had the presence of high powered delegation of Bissa in the United States.
It was a gathering to deliberate on ways to grow the association across Europe and America and to further establish stronger ties with sister associations back home.
In his praiseworthy speech, which received a rapturous applause from members, Chir Gambo called on all other Bissas to link-up to join the family together.
“BANA is the mouthpiece of Bissas in the United States of America. So whoever has a family in the US tell them about BANA and encourage them to come out and join their family,” he said.
“Brothers and sisters in places like Canada are doing well and we need expedite action to establish that link with those in other parts of Europe to grow the fraternity.”
He extended appreciation to the Greater Accra Bissa Chief, Kir Mohamed Ali Dabre (MOODI) who is the patron, BANA, thanking for his “continuous support, advices and general fatherhood role he is playing in uniting Bissa in America and in Ghana”.
He also heaped praises on his New Jersey campatriot,Chireh Alhaji Ibrahim Adams, “for his hardwork and strong campaign for Bissa Unity everywhere he goes.
Chir Gambo also extended appreciation to Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar and all Bissas in Toronto Canada for their efforts to Unite Bissas in Canada.
