
Brig. Gen. Abdulai: Retired Bissa stalwart dies at Korle Bu
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the Bissa community have been plunged into mourning following the death of retired Army Officer Brigadier General Alhaji Enusah Abdulai (Rtd), a founding member of the Bissa Development Association (BDA).
Reports from the Bissa leadership indicate that General Abdulai, as he was popularly called, passed away in the early hours of Friday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after a period of illness.
Brig. Gen. Abdulai served with distinction as the Director in Charge of Finance for the Ghana Armed Forces during his illustrious military career.
The Bissa Development Association (BDA), through an emotional statement shared on Friday, officially confirmed the passing of the distinguished retired military officer. In their heartfelt announcement, they expressed the profound loss felt by both the Dimba families of Pusiga and the entire Bissa community:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce on behalf of the Dimba families of Pusiga, the Lemagan, and the Council of Elders of the BDA that our beloved father, uncle, and brother, Brigadier Gen. (Rtd) Abdulai Enusah, responded to the call of his Maker this dawn at KBTH, Accra,” the BDA announced on Friday. “Our condolences to the family and indeed to ourselves. “May Allah forgive his past and grant him Jannah.”
Beyond his military service, he was a respected figure within the Bissa community and a founding member of the Bissa Development Association, an organization dedicated to the socioeconomic advancement of the Bissa people of Ghana.
His death marks the end of an era for both the military establishment and the Bissa community, where he was regarded as a stalwart and a pioneering figure in community development initiatives. Colleagues describe him as a man of integrity whose financial expertise and leadership significantly contributed to the smooth operations of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Originally from Pusiga in the Upper East Region, Brig. Gen. Abdulai maintained strong ties with his hometown throughout his life and worked tirelessly to bring development to the area through his community involvement.
He has been buried in accordance with Islamic traditions. A third-day prayer ceremony (Dua) will be held at the Al Aziz Mosque in Burma Camp, the headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The family has announced that the final Dua ceremony will take place in his hometown of Pusiga after the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
His contributions to the Ghana Armed Forces’ financial management and his dedication to uplifting the Bissa people through developmental projects have left an indelible mark that will be remembered for generations to come.
