A book of condolence has been opened at the Flower Pot residence of the late Dr. Major Dr. Mustapha Ahmed in Accra, allowing mourners to pay their respects to the former Minister of Youth and Sports and commiserate with the bereaved family.

Dr. Ahmed, who died last Wednesday at 63, was laid to rest on Sunday in an Islamic burial service at the Military Cemetery in Accra.

His burial services were heralded by the “Janaiza” prayers led by the National Chief Imam at the National Mosque, where dignitaries bid farewell before his mortal remains were carried to the cemetery.

A steady stream of mourners have so far passed by the residence to sign the book and offer kind words about the late minister, whose demise has been described as a big loss to the Bissa fraternity, the Muslim community, and mother Ghana.

Dr. Ahmed dedicated over four decades of his life to serving Ghana in these many roles. His burial on Sunday with full military honours marked the end of a remarkable life of dedication.
The book of condolence will remain open at Dr. Ahmed’s residence for the next week while the family has been thanking the public for their outpouring of support and payment of tributes during this difficult time.

He was an NDC stalwart who served as an MP for Ayawaso East and North Constituencies for 16 years.

The line looks good, just one minor correction:

He worked as a dentist in the Army with the rank of Major and later established the Palazah Medical Centre for the service of humanity.

He was survived by a wife and three Children.

A state is to be held on March 10 to honour the lifelong service of the respected statesman.

Meanwhile, the family has announced to hold the 7th-day Dua on Wednesday morning at his Flower Pot residence.
