A group in Bawku has withdrawn from an upcoming Kusaug Excellence Awards (KEA21) as it does not represent the general interests of all the tribes in the Bawku township.

The leadership the Dakopa group in the region says it does not want to see it’s members associate themselves with any other Tribal event or be seen to be promoting other tribal events except that of Bissa.

A statement issued by the Bissa Kodokupa have pushed back from the Kasaug awards program, urging all members  not to invest their interest in any event  which is meant to promote one tribe over another.

“We are in support of any member who wishes to contest on any neutral awards platform,” the statement read.

Good Evening,

We wish to bring to your attention that we are withdrawing from the upcoming Kusaug Excellence Awards (KEA21) because we do not want to associate ourselves with any other Tribal event or be seen to be promoting other tribal events except that of Bissa.

We are in support of any member who wishes to contest on any neutral awards platform. Our very own Star Gyal is contesting as Upper East Peace Icon at the Upper East Peace and Entertainment Awards 21. We encourage members to support her by voting for her.

Let’s strive to support and promote our tribe and disassociate ourselves from any other tribal events in Bawku (Bissaku).

Signed….. ✍🏽
Bissa Kodokupa executive members
