The National Best Nurse Aisha Bawa Hamisu Zampaligiri will be honoured by Bissas in a durbar on Saturday, 25th December, in Kumasi to her credit in winning the prestigious award in the health sector.
A heroic welcome, an extolment in the highest order and a remarkable appreciation await the young Midwife at the Bissa Palace in Sabon Zongo (NZ 1).
She is to be honoured by the Regional Bissa Chief Tanko Yemboni, with huge support from the Ashanti Regional Council of Bissa Chiefs.
The program which is scheduled at 10 am is expected to have a colourful display of Bissa culture.
It is the first of many events lined up to celebrate the Bissa lady, who has carved an enviable reputation for her family, the Bissa Fraternity and the Ashanti Region.
Aisha on Friday 17th December, was adjudged the 2021 National Best Nurse at the 2nd edition of Annual National Awards held during the 61th Anniversary dinner and awards night of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
She had earlier won the Ashanti Regional Best Nurse to earn the ticket for the National contest made up of 10 Regional finalists.
Per data available to the judges, the performance of the Bissa lady, on her line of duty, was so good enough to be the best as the winner was chosen on the bases of innovation, dedication and hard work.
For her prize, she was presented with a brand new car valued over GHC100,000, a Laptop and a Citation.
She has already visited the National Chief Imam Shaikh Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu in showing appreciation to the eminent Muslim leader.
Born to a Zampaligiri Dad and a Zerba mum, Aisha has received plethora of congratulatory messages from across the world, including the Bissa Development Association of North America.
However, the upcoming Durbar of the Chiefs and people of the Bissa community in the Ashanti region, marks another chapter where a heroine is being recognised by her own people.
It is expected to be a moment of rewarding excellence, giving recognition and respect to one of the many Bissas carrying the fraternity’s flag to higher heights.
She is already a household name at the Manhyia Goverment Hospital and many other health facilities in the Region as she has become one of a role model, whose success story inspires other young health practitioners to give off their best for the country.
A wife and mother of two, Aisha has been exceptional in her eight years service to in the health sector and has over the years been hailed by her patience.
She holds a diploma from the Nursing and Midwifery training college in Kumasi and BSc midwifery from the Kwame Nkrumah University of science and technology Kumasi. Since 2013 she has been the Champion and Focal Person in Newborn Care Manhyia District Hospital, Regional Facilitator in helping babies breathe (HBB) and Essential care for every baby (ECEB) Ghana Health Service, Health promoter (Radio and TV) on Maternal and Newborn issues and general health program.
