The Bissa fraternity has been hit with the sudden demise of CEO of Kumasi-based Zuria FM Alhaji Abubakar Haruna.
The Bissa man, who established the first radio station for the Zongos, was reported dead in the early hours of Thursday.
The cause of his death is not immediately known but a statement issued, on Social Media page of the station, indicate the business mogul breathed his last surrounded by his family.
“With enormous pains, Zuria 88.7 informs the public the passing of its CEO Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, said by a statement reported on Zuria 88.7 Facebook page.
“Alhaji Abubakar Haruna, breathed his last at the early hours of today surrounded by his family.
“During his life, Alhaji Abubakar Haruna was a UK Trained Certified Pharmacist and Health Practitioner. He was also, an astute entrepreneur, and CEO of Mogonowriah Group of Companies.
“The family and Zuria FM enquiries utmost privacy at this trying moment,” the statement added.
Alhaji Abubakar Haruna is a great Bissa man, who established Zuria FM in the year 2003, and pioneered the introduction of the Bissa language on the airwave.
His benevolence extends not only to the Bissa tribe but the other tribes as well.
He ensured that airtime was allotted to various muslim preachers to preach in their local dialects.
After 18years, his Zuria FM remains one of the top most FM stations in the country.
He will be buried in few hours on the same day in accordance to islamic tradition, report indicates.
