Aishatu Abubakar, a Bissa student of Kumasi SecTech, has emerged as the winner of the Miss SHS Ghana 2023 pageant held at the prestigious National Theatre in Accra on Tuesday, December 26.

With her exceptional qualities, she outshined thirteen other finalists to claim the coveted crown in the 4th edition of the esteemed pageant, achieving a feat that is not just a personal triumph but a symbol of cultural pride and unity.

Her clever presentation in the portrayal of the values and customs of the Bissa community at the pageant beautifully reflected the rich cultural background from which she hails, showcasing her deep connection to her roots and the traditions of her community.

And her achievement was made even more special by her heritage as the daughter of the Bissa Chief of Amoamang in the Ashanti Region, as her representation not only brought honour to her school, Kumasi SecTech, but also shed light on the rich cultural heritage of the Bissa people.

The Form 2 student of Kumasi SecTech proudly showcased her Bissa culture throughout the competition, effectively conveying the significance of the Bissa influence in the Upper East Region and  Ghana as a whole, as she inspired  fellow young Ghanaians to take pride in their own cultural backgrounds and foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nation’s rich diversity.

The Miss SHS Ghana pageant  provides a remarkable opportunity for young students to exhibit their diverse cultural backgrounds and express their individuality while promoting unity and understanding among different ethnic groups in Ghana.
