Team Bissa will pit their wit against Kotokolis in a Quarter-Final duel on Sunday in the ongoing Zongo Inter Tribal Gala.
It comes after the Bissas were declared winners of their abandoned chaos-ladened Second Round game with the Zabarmas.
The Kanda Cluster of Schools park will be the venue for the clash as the Bissas go in for their Semi-final ticket in the last knock out hurdles with the Kotokolis, who have also proven to be stubborn side.
It’s a tie between a free scoring Kotokoli side against a resilient Bissa side, which has the knack of coming back to pull parity.
On two occasions the Bissas have been able to come from a goal down to push games to penalty shootout, winning against the Chokosis and having the Zabarmas running from the penalty contest.
They “Zekula Mystic” men have scored and conceded in their two previous games and were declared winners of their Second Round tie with the Zabarmas, after the latter boycotted the penalty shootout in protest against what they claimed was “unfair officiating”.
The Kotokolis qualified to the Quarter-final stage by walloping the Dagombas by 3-0 and they look tougher than the two previous opponents of the Bissas.
But the Bissas looked poised for the challenge after being motivated by the leadership of the tribe.
After their match against the Zabarmas on Wednesday, they received a donation from the Council of Bissa Chiefs, led by Alhaji Bayire Abdullaihi Mohammed (AKA Alhaji 5 pillars), the Youth Chief of Greater Accra.
The team’s participation in the competition has court interests from the majority of the members of the fraternity, a development that has brought more pressure than pleasure to the players.
They know they have to deliver to complement the huge support they are enjoying from their brothers and sisters across the country.
Sunday’s match will be the second of the Quarter Final matches in the tournament, which is being organised to foster unity among the Zongo tribes.
The Mosis and Ga Adangbes opens the Quarter Final contest at 3 pm today at the Kanda Cluster of Schools park.
The maiden Zongo Inter Tribal Gala started with 22 teams and after Tuesday, four out the current eight will make it to the Semi Final stage of the competition.
