The second edition of the Ashanti Regional Annual Inter Tribal Football Gala has been launched in a colorful ceremony in Kumasi, with Bissa being one of the 20 participating teams.
The Kulungungu natives will be making their second attempt for community glory after being eliminated by Hausa in the maiden competition.
With 𝐍-𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐝 coming in as the title sponsor, the 2023 edition comes in bigger and better than the previous as the champion is slated to get a mouth-watering prize.
The community based football tournament involving various tribes in the Zongo communities, is played under the auspices of his Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II , Sarkin Zongo and the various tribal Cheifs.
The main objectives of the competition is to bring youth from Zongo communities together to promote peace, unity and discipline, as well as provide a national platform for talent display and recovery.
Launching the second edition, the acting Sarkin Zongo/Moshie Chief, commended the organisers of the tournament for sustaining such a tournament with noble objectives.
The Founder of the tournament, Jawad Madugu, expressed delight and appreciation to all stakeholders for the strides the tournament has made within this short time.
A live draw was conducted for the group stage of the tournament, which kicks off on Monday, July 3rd, 2023.
Present at the ceremony included Chief Moshie/Sarkin Zango, Chief Gonja from Prang, Sarkin Dagomba of Pekyi, Sarkin Aboabo, Yariman Sarkin Yoruba, Chief Gonja, Golden boy Abdul Razak and General Manager for N-Quad Global Alhaji Tijani Tafiida and representatives of the various tribes.
