The Bissa Chief of Teshie Alhaji Abdul Rahman has died aged 104, family has confirmed.
The centenarian died on late Tuesday afternoon but will be buried on Wednesday at a cemetery in Tema Community 9, in accordance to Islamic traditions.
A statement releases by the Bancey clan described the late Chief as “beloved brother, uncle, father, grandfather”.
“This is to inform all that our beloved brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and all, Chief Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Bancey, the Bissa Chief of Teshie, has passed on to be with our Maker, Allaah, he will be Bathed and shrouded at the Community 7 Mosque (Tema) tomorrow morning Inshaa Allaah, and sent for burial at the community 9 cemetery,” it read.
“May Allaah bestow His Mercy on the departed, forgive him and grant him Jannaah. Aameen.”
His demise has been described as a big loss to the Bissa fraternity due to his exemplary leadership in the Greater Accra suburb.
