Bissa Chief of Gomoa Nyanyano Kir Abdulahi Zakari Bayire has marked his 5th anniversary of his ascension to the seat of leadership in the Central regional town.
Prayers, anniversary tributes, presentation of awards and inauguration of sub chiefs characterised the celebration of a milestone chalked by the Business Mogul.
By 9am on Saturday, hundreds of participants have arrived at his Nyanyano Point 4 palace in celebration of Kir’s dedication to service.
The colourful event was attended by chiefs, religious leaders executives of the Bissa Development Association (BDA) and other members of the society, whose presence told an overwhelming story of a unifier in charge of Bissas in the Gomoa community.
Kir Zakari Bayire has remained an important figure in the Bissa fraternity and his event was graced by big chiefs from other ethnic groups.
He is a top member of the Central Regional Council of Bissa Chiefs and has a huge influence in the region.
His reign has seen many Bissa youth – men and women – being supported in the areas of education and employment.
And was eulogised for his contribution in the development of the Gomoa community.
Five years could be too young but tributes that poured in from one chief to another summarised a scintillating story of a selfless man who has taken his chieftaincy duties more seriously than his personal benefits.
It was his event and was meant be celebrated in modesty, but his achievements over the years gave him the laudest of applause.
Many came from far and near to be part of an anniversary that was commemorated with more focus on developmental issues than glits and glamour.
In a statement of gratitude read on his behalf, Chief Bayire said : “I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me.”
The anniversary celebration also saw some Bissa dignitaries receiving awards for their various contribution towards the development of the fraternity.
The day was climaxed with the inauguration of sub-chiefs who have been assigned to some special positions as part of strategies to carry the development of Bissa to another level.
