The Greater Accra Regional Bissa Chief Imam, Hassan Nombre will mark this year’s “Maulid Nabi” on Friday November 26, 2021, inviting the general public to an event meant to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In exactly ten days time, the Polo junction at Alajo will be the centre of attraction as the head of the “Zaawiyatul Adwaaul Faid” welcomes thousands of people to a special birthday programme to be marked with Islamic lectures.
The National Chief Imam Shaikh Dr. Uthman Nuhu Sharubutu, who has been commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad for over fifty (50) years, will be the Guest of Honour for the one-night event.

Imam Hassan Nombre who is the head of the Zaawiyatul Adwaaul Faid, has been the Bissa Chief Imam of Greater Accra for the past 5 years.
He has imparted knowledge to thousands and remains a role model to many across all the religious sects.
He leads the weekly Friday congregational prayers at the Kotobabi Central Mosque and Ebony Central Mosque in the Greater Accra on rotational bases.
His grand event is expected to bring together Muslim leaders and clerics from across the country and abroad, top government officials, politicians from the various political divide and leaders of other religions.
One of the significance of the commemoration of the Maulid is that it serves as a reminder to Muslims to continuously emulate the exemplary lifestyle of the Prophet Muhammad.
It has a yearly fixture that is celebrated on the twelfth day of the month Rabi’ al-Awwal by some Muslim sects.
Celebrations include festivals, prayer services, recitations of poetry and litanies, as well as religious lectures.
