The Bissa Development Association(BDA) has congratulated Mr Ibrahim Baba Bukari on his election victory as the NPP Chairman for the Bono East region.
Mr Ibrahim, who once served as the interim Chairman of the BDA, won last Friday’s regional election with landslide, ousting the incumbent Thomas Adu Appiah.
While congratulating Mr Ibrahim on his triumph at the regional level, the BDA also congratulated other Bissas, who won positions in the party at the various constituencies.
“The National Executive Committee of the BDA (NEC) congratulate Chairman Ibrahim Baba Bukari on his election as NPP Chairman for Bono East Region,” said the statement signed by Chairman Shaibu Gutare Zanni.
“We also take the opportunity to extend our congratulations to all Bissa aspirants in the various constituencies who won various positions in the just ended NPP constituency elections.
Mr Ibrahim’s victory falls in line with the BDA mission of encouraging more Bissas to participate in party politics as it forms part of the Association’s strategic goals.
And the NEC’s cogratulatory statement urged more Bissa Youth to “take keen interest” in contesting political positions.
“It is our prayer that the feat achieved by Chairman Ibrahim and the other successful contestants will encourage our youth to take keen interest in putting themselves forward to contest such positions,” the statement added.
Mr Ibrahim, stepped out for the first time to contest a regional seat and he achieved it with massive endorsement as his 151votes gave him 64% out of the total.
He defeated the incumbent, whom until Friday was seen as a stalwart.
Chairman IB, as popularly called, served as an interim Chairman of the BDA, becoming an absolute financier of many of the association’s activities.
He has assured his commitment to operate an open door administration for effective participation of members in the decision-making process.

Mr. Ibrahim who was the first Interim National Organizing Committee (INOC) chairman for the BDA, polled 151 against the incumbent and formidable chairman Toma and was declared winner yesterday.
We also take the opportunity to extend our congratulations to all Bissa aspirants in the various constituencies who won various positions in the just ended NPP constituency elections.
